CS-Cart AI Suggested Products

The native "Similar products" of CS-Cart works with a price percentage inside the same category. The result is predictable: a customer looking at a carrying case sees car mounts and brackets, simply because they happen to share category and price. Nothing to do with what they are looking for.

The add-on uses artificial intelligence (Claude) to understand what each product actually does. For a case it suggests other cases. For a fishfinder transducer it suggests cheaper and more expensive transducers — and next to them the fishfinder itself, the connection cable and the mounting bracket. Every suggestion comes with the reason it was chosen, so you can check it makes sense before showing it to your customers.

Three strategies, selectable per block: Similar for substitutes, Complementary for cross-sell, Mixed for a combination. You can place two blocks on the same page — one "Similar" and one "Goes well with".

Beyond the product page, suggestions can also appear as a popup, either after a few seconds or the moment the visitor is about to leave (exit intent) — one last chance to keep the sale.

The add-on also learns which buyer types visit your store. Personas emerge from real visitor behaviour — for example "Hunter with GPS" or "Professional fisherman" — and every visitor sees a title written for them, combined with the category they are browsing. You see which persona clicks and which one buys, so you know where it pays to invest.

Cost stays small and under control. Suggestions are computed once per product and cached. Persona detection runs once a month — visitor matching happens locally, without any API call. There is also a monthly call limit, so the cost never runs away.
